Monday, September 12th, 2011On September 11, 2011 folks in Roanoke took a step back in time with a free sock hop at Tanglewood Mall. Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism and Generation Solutions transported grandparents and their families back to the 1950’s and 1960’s with their second annual Grandparent’s Day celebration. Attendees enjoyed music of that era provided by the 40 Years After band and there were contests galore and even a visit and a performance from the “King” himself. They rounded out the festivities with complimentary hotdogs and a root beer floats. We hope to see you there next year!
