Medication Aide
Medication Aide is a growing field of opportunity for Nurse Aides or caregivers who would like to expand their knowledge in medication administration and work in Assisted Living facilities. Medication Aides are trained under the direction of an RN or LPN to give medications and to administer insulin to residents in assisted living facilities.
Medication Aide Program Includes
- State approved 68 hour course
- State licensed nurse instructors (trained in adult education)
- Classes Offered in both Roanoke and Lynchburg
Part Time Program
- Three week class
- Morning schedule Monday – Thursday (8:30am-3:00pm) or
- Evening schedule Monday – Thursday (5:00pm-10:00pm)
Cost approximately $425 depending on region
Includes: instruction, textbook and workbook
Enrollment Requirements
- Must complete application/interview
- Must have completed and provide copy of certificate for 120 hour Nurse Aide Course (CNA) or 40 Hour Direct Care Course.
- Good character
- No barrier crimes committed per state requirement
- Deposit required one week before class starts
